New Triple Strike Puck Bowler at Star Worlds!
Before the HUGE burst of the video game craze you use to find puck bowlers in almost any club, bar, tavern, and some bowling alleys. I remember as a little kid playing my first puck bowler with my mom at the Black Hawk Motel in the Wisconsin Dells. These games are also known by other names such as shuffle bowlers or shuffle alleys. The game is basically played like bowling, but with a round metal puck that has a plastic disk in the center.
Once depositing your tokens, you use the "select" button to choose the kind of game you want to play. On our machine you can select Regulation, Flash, Big Strike, Strike 90, and Triple Strike. Most players play Regulation or Flash. Once your game is chosen you press the start button for as many players as you want to play, from 1 to 6. You play the game by sliding the puck down the alley and the pins flip up according to the ones you've scored. If you have never played one, it's a lot of fun. If you have played one, I am sure it's been quite a while. You seldom see these bowlers any more these days because few have been made in the past years and, like pinball machines, most arcades are too lazy to maintain a mechanical machine such as this. Like our pinball machines, we spend time each week doing routine maintenance like adjusting, waxing and cleaning.
As it's been in the arcade for a few weeks now, we have noticed that a lot of players have been playing and coming back for more. Next time you are in, bowl a few games and see if your bowling skills can transfer into your shuffle bowling skills. :)
What's your high score?
